One sunny afternoon, Rexie the golden T-Rex and his adventurous friend Marlo, the walking mosasaurus, set out to explore a new underwater cave they’d heard whispers about. The cave was said to hold treasure beyond imagination, but it was hidden deep beneath the waves.
As they dived into the ocean, the water grew darker and cooler, and strange, shimmering lights danced in the depths, guiding them to the entrance of the cave. Marlo swam ahead, his sleek body gliding through the water effortlessly, while Rexie followed, using his powerful tail to steer and keep up with his friend. Beams of sunlight filtered through the water, creating a magical, shifting pattern around them. The deeper they went, the heavier the water seemed to grow, wrapping around them like a cool blanket.
When they finally reached the cave, they found that the entrance was too small for Rexie to enter. Determined, they worked together to remove the rocks and corals covering the entrance. As they peeked inside, they could see a small light at the end of the tunnel, which made their hearts race with excitement. They worked even faster, eager to see what awaited them. Finally, after clearing the entrance, they were met by a breathtaking sight: golden beams of light shimmered from within, casting an eerie yet beautiful glow across the walls. The light made the water sparkle, and there, in the centre of the cave, was a sparkling treasure chest overflowing with pearls, gems, and shimmering gold coins.
“Look at all that treasure!” Rexie said, his eyes wide with excitement.
But just as they were about to approach, a flash of gold darted out from behind the treasure chest. It was a fish, bright gold, shimmering, and surprisingly small. It circled them slowly, its big eyes watching every move.
“Oh, look!” Rexie said, smiling. “A golden fish guarding golden treasure. How cute!”
The fish tilted its head, eyeing them sharply. Then, suddenly, its mouth opened, revealing rows of razor-sharp teeth. It wasn’t just any fish, it was a golden piranha! And it was not pleased to see intruders near its treasure.
With a flick of its tail, the golden piranha darted toward Rexie, its jaws snapping. The water seemed to ripple with tension, and Rexie barely had time to react, pulling back just in time to avoid a nasty bite. His heart pounded as he realised just how dangerous this little fish could be.
“Careful!” Marlo shouted. “That’s no ordinary fish, Rexie, it’s got teeth that could take a chunk out of you! We need to be careful!”

The golden piranha circled them, its eyes narrowing, clearly trying to scare away the two adventurers. Despite its small size, it was fierce and fast, and Rexie and Marlo knew they had to think quickly if they wanted to get out of the cave safely.
Marlo whispered, “We need a plan. It’s too fast for us to catch, and those teeth look sharp.”
Rexie nodded, his eyes narrowing with determination. “I’ve got an idea! Let’s work together and create a whirlpool!”
Marlo agreed, and the two began swimming in a circle around the treasure chest, faster and faster, creating a whirlpool that sent powerful currents spinning inside the cave. The water churned, and the golden piranha tried to swim away, but soon found itself struggling to even move. All of them were caught in the whirlpool.
Rexie and Marlo, being big and heavy creatures, had the strength to escape from it. The golden piranha, however, was small and light, unable to break free. It swirled around in the current for a long time, helpless and exhausted. When the whirlpool finally slowed down and died, the piranha was left disoriented and dizzy. It couldn’t swim in a straight line and had to sink to the seabed, closing its eyes to rest.

Relieved, Rexie and Marlo approached the treasure chest cautiously. They admired the glittering pearls, bright gems, and the mound of gold coins that sparkled in the dim light, their colours reflecting off the cave walls in mesmerising patterns. “We did it!” Rexie said excitedly.
But Marlo, always the thoughtful one, looked around and said, “Treasures are best left where they belong, this ocean has guarded it for centuries. Let’s not take more than a memory. We’ll take just one gem each to remember this adventure, but we’ll leave the rest for the sea creatures.”
Rexie agreed, and they each picked a single treasure: Rexie chose a coin, golden as his scales, and Marlo chose a sapphire as blue as the sea. With their treasures tucked away, they carefully swam out of the cave, leaving the rest of the riches undisturbed.
The End.
