One fine morning, Raffee, the mischievous rabbit, twitched his little nose and sighed.
“I’m so bored!” he muttered, thumping his foot against the ground. “I need a new friend to play with!”
Off he went, hopping across the meadow, his big ears bouncing with each leap. First, he spotted Ox, chewing lazily on some grass.
“Hey, Ox! Let’s play chase!” Raffee called.
Ox snorted, his heavy body barely moving. “Chase? No thanks. I’m too big and slow for that.” He flicked his tail and went back to munching.
“Hmph,” Raffee grumbled.
Next, he saw Tortoise, plodding along near a small pond.
“Tortoise! Let’s race!” Raffee suggested, his whiskers twitching with excitement.
Tortoise blinked slowly. “Race? You’ll finish before I take three steps.” He chuckled and kept moving at his own slow pace.
Raffee sighed. This wasn’t going well.
Then, he heard a soft buzzing sound. Bees! They were zooming around a patch of bright flowers.
“Ooooh! Maybe I can play with the bees!” Raffee thought. He bounced over and tried to join their game, zigzagging between flowers like they did.
BZZZ! STING!
“YEEEEOW!” Raffee yelped as sharp pain shot through his fur. He leapt away, shaking his paw.
“Bad idea! Very bad idea!”
Just as he was about to give up, he spotted something wonderful: a fluffy brown bunny, just like him!
“Hey! Wanna play?” Raffee asked eagerly.
The other bunny grinned. “Sure! Let’s pretend fight!”
Raffee’s eyes sparkled. He loved pretend fighting! The two bunnies pounced, rolled, and wrestled in the grass.
“Hi-yah!” Raffee dodged.
“Take this!” The other bunny playfully tackled.
They flipped, tumbled, and darted around, their tiny paws kicking up dust. They imagined they were fearless warriors, bouncing and dodging invisible foes. The meadow echoed with their laughter.
But then, WHOOSH! WHOA! THUD! Raffee lost his footing and, SMACK!, he hit the ground face-first.
“Owwwwww!” he whimpered.
His lip stung terribly, and when he touched it, he saw bright red streaking his paw. He cried, big tears rolling down his furry cheeks. His friend looked worried, but also a little impressed.
“Whoa, Raffee… your teeth!”
Raffee sniffled and looked at his reflection in a puddle. His front teeth had pushed forward, sticking out in a funny way.
“Oh no! My teeth look weird!” he groaned.
But soon, his friend started giggling. “Actually… they look kinda cool! Now everyone will always recognise you!”
Raffee wiped his tears and gave a small smile. He did look different. But maybe, just maybe, it wasn’t so bad.
And from that day on, Raffee was known for his big buck teeth: his special mark of being the most playful, mischievous bunny in the meadow!
The End.
