The crew moved cautiously into the cave, their torches casting flickering shadows on the damp stone walls. Their breaths echoed in the narrow tunnel, mixing with the distant drip of water. Fear clung to them, but so did excitement: if the fossa was truly guarding something, it had to be valuable. Deeper and deeper they went, the tunnel twisting like a serpent beneath the mountain.
