Every night, when the lights went out and the room grew quiet, something magical happened in Ben’s playroom. The box of Lego blocks — reds, yellows, blues, and greens — began to wiggle and jiggle softly.

“Wake up, everyone!” whispered a tiny red block. “It’s ocean night!” squeaked a blue one.

With a little click-clack and snap-snap, the blocks began to build themselves. First came two bright blue pieces that curved like fins. Then a white block became a smiling mouth. Before long, a dolphin leapt up from the floor, flicking its tail proudly.

“Who wants to race me to the bookshelf reef?” the dolphin chirped.

More blocks scrambled to join in. A long line of grey pieces formed a smooth body. Sharp triangular pieces clipped on to make a shark.

“I’ll get there first!” growled the shark, in a pretend-scary voice. “Only if you can swim faster than me!” laughed the dolphin.

Then came a gentle turtle, made from green and brown blocks. She yawned slowly, because turtles don’t like to rush. “I’ll catch up,” she said calmly.

All around the floor, Lego pieces clicked together into sea creatures. There were starfish, seahorses, and jellyfish with clear, wobbly heads. The rug became their ocean. The bookshelf turned into a coral reef.

The dolphin zoomed in circles. The shark glided through imaginary waves. The turtle floated softly behind. They played tag around the toy box. They swam past the slippers. They even found a new underwater cave beneath Ben’s bed.

But every night adventure has to end. Just as the first morning rays peeked through the curtains, the Lego pieces heard a gentle ding from the toy clock.

“Time to go back,” said the turtle. “One last loop!” shouted the dolphin. “Race you all home!” roared the shark.

Click-click, snap-snap! The creatures broke apart gently. They shuffled back into the Lego box, just as Ben’s alarm went off.

When Ben opened his eyes, the room looked perfectly ordinary again. But if you looked very closely, you might spot a few Lego blocks on the floor, arranged like a tiny fish. It almost looked like it was waving goodbye.

Ben smiled in his half-sleep. He didn’t know how, but he could almost hear the soft splash of a Lego dolphin’s tail.

And so, every night, while the world was asleep, a secret sea swam quietly in the playroom.
